30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF YUAN LIN

The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) has published a special edition of its periodical Yuan Lin magazine, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the formation of the HKILA in 1989. The Special Edition includes numerous articles describing the excellent work undertaken by its Members in the public and private sectors. URBIS contributed two articles: the first article describes our work on three projects, namely the Zero Carbon Building and Park, the Hong Kong Wetland Park and the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront (Avenue of Stars and Salisbury Garden); and the second article by Managing Director Alexander Duggie proposes a more ecological approach to landscape design in Hong Kong.
The magazine also contains an article describing the thirty year history of the HKILA Design Awards. A list of all Awards issued by the HKILA since 1989 is presented which reveals that URBIS Limited has won over 25% of all Awards issued and considerably more than any other individual participant, including all Hong Kong Government departments combined. Furthermore URBIS is the only participant to have won an award every time that the awards scheme has been held. This confirms and reinforces the leading role that URBIS Limited continues to play in planning and designing the foremost landscapes in Hong Kong.
